Want to figure out where you can reduce your carbon footprint? Take the online Bronco Hoofprint calculator. It tallies everything from what kinds of books you order to how many red cups you use.

When shopping near or on campus, make sure to reuse your plastic bags. New to the residence halls will soon be a community reusable bag container where residents may drop off and pick up their plastic bags.

Moving into your new residence hall, house, or apartment? Make sure to flatten and recycle your cardboard boxes. If they aren’t badly damaged in the moving process, you can even flatten them and store them under your bed for reuse during move-out. Not only will you be saving resources, but you will save money on packaging materials.

Respect your time and resources at Santa Clara. There are many clubs on campus devoted to the environment and social justice such as SCAAP, GREEN Club, and Engineers Without Borders. The Student Involvement Fair on September 17 helped many students find ways to get involved on campus. Missed it? You can always send an email to club presidents to figure out when meetings for the different student organizations are being held.
