Class of 2024 Undergraduate Commencement Information

Dear Graduate,

Congratulations! We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments at Santa Clara University’s Commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.

2024 Undergraduate Commencement Events:

Friday, May 31, 2024
- Class of 2024 Senior Awards and Toast, 4:00 p.m.

Friday, June 14, 2024
- Commencement Liturgy, 4:00 p.m.
- Grad Bash, 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 15, 2024
- Undergraduate Commencement, 8:30 a.m.
- Undergraduate Faculty Reception, immediately following the ceremony

Please review the information below detailing registration and important deadlines for the Class of 2024 Commencement.

UNDERGRADUATE COMMENCEMENT - JUNE 15, 8:30 AM

Santa Clara University will host a single Commencement ceremony for undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Leavey School of Business, and the School of Engineering in Stevens Stadium. California Supreme Court Associate Justice Martin J. Jenkins, SCU class of ’77, will address the Class of 2024. For more information on Justice Jenkins, read the press release.

COMMENCEMENT REGISTRATION VIA MARCHING ORDER

You will receive an email from commencement@scu.edu granting you access to the Commencement registration system, Marching Order. Once you log in to Marching Order and set a password, you will be able to register to participate in Commencement and review the phonetic pronunciation of your name. Your registration can be submitted without claiming your guest tickets.

COMMENCEMENT GRAD PASS

Each registered graduate will receive a Grad Pass. This Grad Pass is required for entry into the ceremony and will be scanned before you cross the stage in order for your name to be read aloud.
Grad Passes will be made available to all graduates on Monday, May 20. Graduates will also receive an email with ‘Day-of’ Commencement line-up instructions on this date.
Graduates must take a screenshot AND bring a printed copy of their Grad Pass to the ceremony.

COMMENCEMENT GUEST TICKETS

Each graduate will receive eight (8) guest tickets. Graduates can claim their guest tickets and register their guests by logging in to Marching Order. Graduates have the option to modify all eight (8) guest tickets up until June 12. If you need additional tickets, we recommend checking with other graduates to see if they have tickets they will not be using. The Commencement Office is unable to provide additional tickets to graduates. Children two and under do not require a ticket to Commencement.
Guest Tickets each have their own unique QR code and are required for entry into Stevens Stadium. Duplicate scans of the same QR code will not be permitted.

ADDITIONAL COMMENCEMENT RELATED EVENTS:

CLASS OF 2024 AWARDS & SENIOR TOAST - MAY 31

Graduating Seniors are invited to attend the Senior Toast on Friday, May 31 at 4:00 p.m. in the Mission Gardens. The Senior Toast brings together the Class of 2024 to celebrate the impressive accomplishments of graduating seniors. University Award recipients will be announced and a blessing and toast will be offered to our graduates. An outdoor reception will follow the brief awards ceremony. We look forward to celebrating with you! An email invitation and RSVP information will be sent in late April.

COMMENCEMENT LITURGY - JUNE 14

Graduates and their families are invited to participate in SCU’s Commencement Liturgy. Worship with fellow graduates on Friday, June 14 at 4:00 p.m. in Stevens Stadium. Please let us know if you intend to join us at the Liturgy by registering here. Tickets are not required for this event and all are welcome to attend.

GRAD BASH - JUNE 14

The Alumni Association will host a celebration at Bellomy Field from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14, immediately following the Commencement Liturgy. Graduates and children 12 and under are free. All other guests are $55 per person. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 15 and include a reserved table, food, drinks, games, and music. UNDERGRADUATE FACULTY RECEPTION - JUNE 15

Directly following the Undergraduate Ceremony, the Provost’s Office will host a reception for faculty, students and their families to celebrate their success! The Faculty Reception will take place on the St. Ignatius and Daly Science Lawns. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are not required for this event and all are welcome to attend.

COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM

The names of all graduates deemed eligible to participate in Commencement by April 24, 2024 will automatically be included in the 2024 Commencement Program. To have your name omitted from the program, fill out and submit this form.

SCU’s digital Commencement program will be available for download and viewing on the Commencement website in early June. Guests attending Commencement will be able to access the digital program via QR code which will be provided upon arrival to Stevens Stadium. A printed program will be placed on each graduate’s seat at the Commencement ceremony.

Important Reminders for Graduates:

The Commencement ceremony and stage crossing will be livestreamed and the link will be posted on the Commencement website.
Graduates who have achieved Honors status will receive an email detailing honor cord pick-up instructions in late April.
