Undergraduate Core Curriculum: Experiential Learning for Social Justice Faculty Guidelines for Course Development
Where do I submit my syllabus for ELSJ core curriculum approval?
Syllabus submissions must be made to: UgradStudies@scu.edu. The ELSJ Faculty Core Committee is responsible for reviewing and approving syllabi. Syllabus submission guidelines are posted on the SCU Core Curriculum website: http://www.scu.edu/core/
What is “Assignment Mapping,” and how do I map course assignments to ELSJ learning objectives?
The syllabus must explicitly indicate how the course assignments meet each of the ELSJ learning outcomes.
How can Arrupe Weekly Engagement Program work with me?
Arrupe Weekly Engagement can connect you with one or more of their existing community placements for your course. It is the responsibility of the faculty to develop course curriculum to enrich the community contact, and to provide in-class time for students to reflect critically on their community-based learning engagements.
Do I have to use Arrupe Weekly Engagement to get my course approved for ELSJ?
No. Arrupe Weekly Engagement staff are available to faculty, but not required. Please review the community contact requirements should you choose to develop your own community partnerships for an ELSJ course.
