Dr. Hisham Said is faculty of construction engineering and management in the department of Civil Engineering at Santa Clara University. Dr. Said holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Cairo University in Egypt, and PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His previous academic positions include working as post-doctoral research associate at Purdue University and a lecturer at Cairo University in Egypt. In addition to his academic background, Dr. Said has a rich experience in the building industry as a structural engineer and contract administrator. He has authored more than 40 papers in leading research journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Said scholarly work was recognized by several awards, including the ASCE ExCEEd Teaching Fellowship, ELECTRI Early Career Award, AGC Faculty Internship/Fellowship, School of Engineering Research and Teaching awards. His research interests include construction industrialization, spatial scheduling, and infrastructure systems engineering.
