Nearly 25% of college students experience some degree of food insecurity at some point during their collegiate career. Support is available through the Office of Student Life for students who are experiencing food insecurity - the lack of reliable access to sufficient quantities of affordable, nutritious food. The program is grounded in trust, thus all requesting or referred students will receive assistance.

If you or someone you know is experiencing food insecurity, please reference the drop-down menus below to learn about eligibility and how to gain access to these resources.

Through this program, students have the opportunity to gain access to the Bronco Pantry, donated gift cards to local stores, and/or donated SCU dining points. The Bronco Pantry regularly stocks non-perishable food items and fresh produce in partnership with the SCU's Forge Garden. Students are offered individual consultation and resources if looking for support beyond SCU either during their time as a student or in advance of graduation.

Any questions regarding the Bronco Pantry can be directed to the Basic Needs Team at basicneeds@scu.edu.

  1. Be a registered Santa Clara University undergraduate or graduate student,
  2. Complete the online intake form on the Basic Needs website, and
  3. Speak with a Basic Needs support member to provide access to funding and discuss resources and support services.

Requests are confidential and will be honored without questioning the legitimacy of the need.

Consider registering for this program or referring a student if food insecurity is present or there is a financial need. Food insecurity is the lack of reliable access to sufficient quantities of affordable, nutritious food.

Complete the following intake form and a member of the Basic Needs support team will contact you or the referred student within one business day to set up a time to speak. The purpose of the meeting is to collect information from the student to determine which resources will be most beneficial and to initiate access to such resources. If long-term need is necessary, the Basic Needs support team will work with the student to find additional resources and support services.

This program is supported 100% through donations with no expectation of re-payment.
