Preferences, Practices, and Virtues: An Ethical Reflection on the Universal Apostolic Preferences
The article, Preferences, Practices, and Virtues: An Ethical Reflection on the Universal Apostolic Preferences, by Director of Religious and Catholic Ethics, David DeCosse, emerged from DeCosse's previous studies on the Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Jesuits, and draws on the moral tradition of virtue ethics. DeCosse argues that the preferences are best understood as the fundamental actions by which crucial virtues like mercy and justice are developed in persons and in institutions.
