Fox News Journalists Killed in Ukraine

Don Heider, executive director at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, quoted by KTVU FOX Channel 2.

Discussing the recent deaths of a Fox News cameraman and field producer killed while reporting on the war in Ukraine, Don Heider talked with Jesse Gary from KTVU FOX about the role of journalists in a war zone, and specifically reminds us that under The Geneva Conventions, international standards of humanitarian treatment in war, that the targeting of journalists is outlawed. Even with those protections, things can and do go awry.

"It just shows people what it's like to try to report from these war zones. You're basically committing a war crime, if you are opening fire on people you know to be journalists or members of the press."

Don Heider, executive director at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, quoted by KTVU FOX Channel 2.
