The Ethics Center welcomes Ann Mongoven as associate director of Health Care Ethics. Most recently, Mongoven was assistant professor of Religious Studies at Michigan State University, where her teaching, research, and service focused on religion and medicine, medical humanities, and healthcare ethics. She holds a doctorate in Religious Studies/Ethics from University of Virginia and a Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. She has taught medical, nursing, undergraduate, and graduate students in bioethics, medical humanities, and health policy. In 2009, she published Just Love: Transforming Civic Virtue (Indiana University Press), which draws from the example of ordinary moral heroes to illuminate how passionate personal commitments and public-mindedness can mutually inform each other.
