The Ethics Center announces two part-time additions to the team in support of both new and existing projects and programs.
Andre Ovissi joined the Ethics Center staff as web marketing specialist. Ovissi is responsible for helping launch an exciting initiative – the Institute for Technology Ethics and Culture (ITEC), designed to ensure the common good for humanity through ethical and responsible design, development, deployment, and use of technology. Ovissi's role in the ITEC project involves the creation of new webpages and development of advertising and outreach marketing campaigns to get ITEC materials in front of the technology leadership and corporate audiences who can benefit most from these resources.
Before joining the Center, Andre was a digital marketing specialist at Fast Protein. He has worked as a freelance consultant globally for a wide range of product and service industries, and has worked for industry-leading firms such as Shutterfly, HPE, Ansira, and more.
Ovissi is a resident of Silicon Valley and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley in Political Economy.
Santa Clara University Alumna, and 2021-22 Business Ethics Intern, Johana Engstrom ’22, returns to SCU and the Markkula Center as program manager for fellowships and internships.
Engstrom graduated with double majors in philosophy and economics/data analytics and a minor in classics. While at Santa Clara, Johana was involved with Cafe Socrates, The Forge Garden and served on the board of the Classics Club (CAESAR) for 3 years. During the 2021 - 22 academic year Johana worked as a legal and ethics compliance intern at Intel through the Ethics Center Business Ethics Internship.
Johana’s personal interests include camping, rock climbing and hiking.
Please join us in welcoming both Ovissi and Engstrom to the Ethics Center team. We look forward to seeing the results their experiences will bring to these exciting programs.
