This academic year, two of our most dedicated colleagues received important promotions at our university.  Professor Laura Nichols was promoted to Full Professor and Professor Cara Chiaraluce to Senior Lecturer. We cannot think of two colleagues most deserving of the merit professional awards. Nichols has contributed significantly to our profession and academics with her generous service and her publications in the field of first-generation college students and community affairs. Chiaraluce serves as our department Internship Coordinator and has contributed extensively to studies related to the family and medical sociology. Our heartfelt congratulations to Laura and Cara. We could not be happier that both have chosen to extend their dedication to our department and students.
