Each year, the faculty of the Psychology Department chooses one or more Senior psychology majors for a number of prestigious awards.
For two of these awards, students must submit applications to be considered, as noted below. Information about how and when to apply will be sent to graduating (or recently graduated) Seniors early in the Spring quarter.
Wundt Award
Established in 1988, this award is given annually by the faculty of the Department of Psychology to the senior student who has excelled in scholarship, research, and service to the department.
Eleanor Willemsen Community Service Award (application required)
Established in 2019 in honor of Eleanor Willemsen, professor emeritus and child advocate, this award is given to a psychology major who has demonstrated a dedication to community service within Santa Clara University or outside of the institution.
Robert M. Numan Student Scholar Award (application required)
Established in 2022 in honor of Bob Numan, Professor Emeritus, neuroscientist and avid equestrian, this award is given annually by the faculty of the Department of Psychology to the senior student who has demonstrated outstanding and significant work in research while an undergraduate at Santa Clara.
Departmental Service Award
This award recognizes the psychology student who has given significant service to the department and has consistently worked to make the experience of their fellow psychology majors more positive and meaningful during their time at Santa Clara.
