Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship

Santa Clara University announces the availability of two postdoctoral clinical training positions in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for the 2024-2025 academic year. The full-time, 12-month Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship positions will begin August 18, 2025. The postdoctoral fellows will be expected to perform all of the duties of a generalist clinician in a comprehensive multicultural university counseling center and will receive supervision according to the State of California Board of Psychology guidelines. Duties include but are not limited to: short-term individual, group, and couples therapy; intake assessment and referral; supervisory opportunities; crisis intervention; development of campus outreach programming; and consultation with faculty and staff.  

Minimum Qualifications

Post doctoral fellows must have graduated from a doctoral psychology program(Psy.D. or Ph.D.) and their degree conferred on their transcript before the start date of the fellowship. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed an APA-accredited internship program and have clinical experience in a university counseling center. Other preferred experience includes brief therapy, crisis intervention, group therapy, outreach, and consultation. 

Salary and Benefits

$88,500 annually. Medical and dental benefits paid sick leave, and holidays in accordance with university policies. The allotted time to prepare for the EPPP licensing exam will be determined.

  • Current Curriculum Vitae
  • Transcripts of graduate work
  • Three letters of recommendation (from at least two clinical supervisors including your current or most recent primary supervisor)
  • Statement from dissertation chairperson indicating status and anticipated date of defense/completion (may be included in one of the three required letters of recommendation)
