Dr. Elena Herrera is a licensed psychologist in California and Oregon. She completed her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from Pepperdine University. Dr. Herrera is bilingual (English/Spanish) and has provided services in both languages across a variety of settings. She began her career treating children and families with serious mental health challenges at Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, followed by staff psychologist positions at the University of California, Davis and Santa Cruz. While at the University of California, Dr. Herrera worked primarily with first generation, undocumented, and bilingual students. Most recently she served as Assistant Clinic Director for the Gronowski Center, the community mental health training clinic at Palo Alto University where she trained and supervised psychology doctoral students and oversaw clinic operations. Dr. Herrera maintains a small private practice where she focuses primarily on the treatment of couples. She has gained extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy to treat couples and families. Dr. Herrera's is passionate about clinical training and supervision, reconnecting relationships, and treating first generation college students.
