Best Places to Work, 2011

Dear Staff and Faculty,

I am pleased to announce that Santa Clara University was selected again as one of the "Best Places to Work in the Bay Area" in a recent survey sponsored by the San Francisco Times and the San Jose Business Journal.   Five categories were recognized, designated by number of employees:   Very Large, Large, Mid-Size, Small and Smaller. SCU was recognized as one of the top Very Large employers included in the awards. We ranked fifth this year, as well as being the only university in the Bay Area to make the list.

From twelve Bay Area counties, 301 companies were nominated with a total of 125 selected as best places to work.  Of particular importance is that our selection was based on employee satisfaction surveys completed by our faculty and staff.

Thank you to all for fostering a work environment of mutual respect and genuine concern for one another. The positive campus climate you help create benefits the entire Santa Clara family, especially our students. Congratulations to all on receiving this recognition for another year running.  It should make us all proud to be associated with Santa Clara.
