Professor Chris Kitts Receives Outstanding Faculty Award from KEENMonday, Jan. 23, 2012Last week I was pleased to learn that Chris Kitts, associate professor of Mechanical Engineering, received the "2011 Outstanding Faculty Member and Network Contributor" award from the Kern Family Foundation. This award is a testament to the Kern Foundation's high regard for Chris, his research and his commitment to the Kern Entrepreneurship Education Network (KEEN) program. Santa Clara University has received two multi-year grants from KEEN to establish an entrepreneurial mindset in 100% of Santa Clara's undergraduate engineers. Chris has served as Santa Clara's principle investigator on the grant awards, and he and his colleagues in Engineering and Business have worked over the past three years on numerous initiatives. I congratulate Chris for this personal recognition and the recognition that he has brought to Santa Clara. I also applaud all who contributed to Santa Clara's KEEN initiatives that advance our curriculum in interdisciplinary entrepreneurship. Michael E. Engh, S.J.
