Inside the Student Experience

Build-A-Cell Storylab

Students will turn simple cell processes into fun short stories. Working in small groups, they choose a basic biological pathway, like mitosis, photosynthesis, membrane diffusion, or anything they can think of, and transform it into a mind map or short narrative. The goal is to show how cells can behave in ways that are simpler than we often think. No prior science knowledge is needed!

Led by student ambassador, Amarachi '27, Public Health Science and Biology double major.

Ever seen a really cool fight on television, in movies, or on stage and think “I want to do that!”? Well now you can learn (a couple things)! Join us for a session where you learn non contact stage combat as you would learn in our THTR 24 Advanced Acting Course.

Bronco Tank

Do you have a brilliant business idea you want to see come to light? Join us for our next Bronco Tank, where you’ll learn about what makes a successful startup idea, the strategy behind a convincing pitch, and get to try it out yourself! We unfortunately don’t have millions of dollars to invest, but rumor has it there may be a prize for the winning team. 

Led by student ambassador, Pranav '27, Marketing major.

The Marshmallow Challenge

Ever wonder how engineers turn simple materials into strong structures? In this hands-on challenge, students will work in teams to design and build the tallest freestanding structure using spaghetti, tape, string and a marshmallow. The activity introduces basic but integral engineering concepts like planning, teamwork and design improvement.

Led by student ambassador, Tess '27, Computer Science & Engineering major.
