SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 1, 2003 -- Santa Clara Magazine, the quarterly alumni magazine of Santa Clara University, is now on the Web at

The new site features all of the print editions’ elements—campus news, features, class notes, alumni profiles—plus a few extras.

"The site gives us the ability to expand the focus of stories through links to related content," said Adam Breen, editor of the online and print versions of the magazine. "We’ll be able to update stories, showcase more photographs, and offer Web-exclusive content not found on the pages of the printed piece."

The Winter 2003 issue features an article by SCU President Paul Locatelli, S.J., on academic excellence, and articles on SCU archaeologists and on a new book seeking solutions to problems of clergy abuse. Santa Clara Magazine has a circulation of 63,000. will be updated as needed between print dates of the magazine (February, May, July, and November). The magazine has won awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and Jesuit Advancement Administrators.

The site also features easy-to-use e-mail forms that allow readers to send a comment, story idea, or letter to the editor. There is an electronic archive of recent issues as well as a search feature that is specific to magazine content.
