SCU ranks No. 9 nationwide for alumni salary potential, measured by PayScale.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 16, 2023—Graduates of Santa Clara University have again ranked in the top 1 percent of undergraduate alumni nationwide, for the salaries they report in their early and mid-careers.

That is the finding of the 2023 College Salary Report recently released by PayScale, a compensation-data company based in Seattle, Washington.

Overall, out of 1,559 schools offering bachelor’s degrees, Santa Clara University alumni ranked No. 9—in the top 1 percent—for average salaries reported. The median earnings for SCU alumni within their first five years post-graduation was $87,300. For those with a decade or more of professional experience, the median salary was $173,100. Santa Clara was among just three California colleges or universities to appear in the Top 10.

“These results are a testament to many factors that distinguish a Santa Clara University education—our outstanding students and faculty, strong alumni network, and innovative location,” said President Julie Sullivan. “At the same time, we are just as proud that our graduates live out in their professions our Jesuit mission of being people for and with others.”

The PayScale data also ranked the median salary attained by students according to their academic majors.

Santa Clara University placed in the top 1 percent for early and mid-career salaries for those who majored in business and communication, and within the top 2 to 10 percent for those majoring in engineering, humanities, social sciences, computer science, and art, according to PayScale.
