Mission Statement
Information Services was formed as an umbrella unit in Spring 1997 to position the University to respond more effectively and efficiently to issues of new and rapidly changing technologies; rising expectations on the part of the faculty, students, and staff we serve; and significant resource issues.
Criteria for guiding the development of an Information Services Division include: improving services to all constituencies; being more proactive in identifying needs of the campus; increasing collaboration and coordination among the units; and increasing opportunities for synergy, a result of getting people in related areas to work together more closely.
IS Mission Statement
Information Services supports teaching, learning, scholarship and University operations by providing access to, facilitating use of, and managing the collection, processing, storage, maintenance, and preservation of information.
Information Services is committed to providing leadership to enable the University to excel in the use of technology and information resources to enhance teaching and learning, support scholarship, and improve service and productivity. It strives to do so through the continuing development of a culture of service, a rich information environment, and leadership in technology applications.
