Celebrations were underway on May 6th, 2023 at the beautiful Testarossa Winery as the Center for Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship commemorated its 50th anniversary. Over 100 guests were in attendance from across the country and beyond for the memorable occasion. Old friends and peers seized the opportunity to reconnect with each other and reminisce about fond memories from years past.

Attendees included alumni from Center for Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship/ Food and Agribusiness Institute/ Institute of Agribusiness programs; former Center directors and staff; and members of the Advisory Board, past and present.

Over a delicious dinner and Testarossa wines, several speeches reflected on the impact and plans for the Center. Advisory board member Erica Riel-Carden spoke about the future of the Center, current undergraduate students Connor Westmoreland and Madeline Pugh recapped their participation in immersion trips and the Sustainable Food Systems minor, and Leavey School of Business Dean Ed Grier remarked on the impact of the Center over the past half century.

The wonderful event culminated with touching remarks honoring the retirement of Dr. Greg Baker, the Executive Director of the Center for Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The night was a memorable celebration of the influence of both the Center and Dr. Baker on Santa Clara University and beyond.
