TWENTY-TON SHIELD
“Perfectionism is a twenty-ton shield that we lug around thinking it will protect us when, in fact, it’s the thing that’s really preventing us from taking flight.” -Brené Brown

FIGURE FRAMEWORK
As I reflect on who I am and who I want to become, I’m struck by how instrumental other people have been to my identity and values. While any singular person’s impact varies, their role in shaping me is– without question– invaluable.
Figure Framework is an ode to the types of meaningful relationships that contribute to a person’s entire being. While this work is an exploration of my own emotions and partnerships, I hope you connect with some of the salient aspects of each dance. Whether with friends, family, acquaintances, or other, this performance is principally about personhood.
Choreographer, Ashley Cook
E.O.N. [Edge of Now]
You know when you fall in love and time feels like it has slowed down or even stopped? Or even when you’re having the time of your life with your friends and time seems to fly by? Or maybe you just feel like you’ve been fighting a losing battle with time, and constantly wish for it to stop rushing by. Take the next 30 minutes to step away from thinking about time and allow yourself to just be.
Please be advised this showcase contains hints of mature themes; recommended for 12+. Flashing lights will be used during Wings of Fate.
