I'M SO PROUD OF YOU
By Nona Lee Porter
I already feel my young adult years filling with nostalgia. The pandemic shapes that feeling more than ever. Day in and day out we live the same realities over and over again, wondering when we will ever escape the cycle of variants and isolation and wildfires and violence, cherishing the presence of loved ones who ride that time
loop with us. It was hard to finally let go of the “before times,” to truly grieve the collective loss of a world I thought I knew. This play speaks so eloquently to the joy of deep human connection and what it means to free oneself of the past.
I'M SO PROUD OF YOU is presented through special arrangement with the playwright.

SAVAGE/LOVE
By Joseph Chaikin, Sam Shepard
After first reading Savage/Love by Sam Shepard and Joseph Chaikin, I was initially apprehensive about trying to direct such an abstract piece, but found that the parallels between this show and the world that we find ourselves in now are very similar. These 19 poems express feelings of love as often being fulfilling, but also confusing, disorienting, and overwhelming. As we have been reminded once again over the past few weeks, we are living in uncertain times. The themes that come up in the text, such as the longing to be with another person, the fear of being alone, and the worry about what’s going to happen in the future have become very prevalent within the past few years. However, just as it is in the text, we are also presented with moments of beauty, wonder, hope, and joy. We thank you for being with us and hope that you enjoy.
