Donations not only provide students with scholarship money, but also permit enhanced learning opportunities such as training and collaborating with professionals and the purchasing needed equipment.
Theatre and Dance welcomes any donation that facilitates the ongoing good work, growth and success of our students and department programs. The majority of contributions are designated for the Theatre and Dance gift fund which allows the greatest flexibility to support department endeavors. A brief statement of other funds’ are defined below. Please contact department chair David Popalisky with any questions.
Scholarship & Donation Funds:
Supports all department activities, some that recur annually and others that are one-time events or new innovations such as the New York Spring Immersion program.
Funds are specifically only used to facilitate the growth and needs of theatre programs and productions. They help bring in guest artists such as Cindy and Mauricio Salgado for the ASTEP (Artists Striving Against Poverty) Program.
Funds are specifically only used to facilitate the needs of dance programs and productions such as the purchase of a new marley floor, as well as masterclasses by guest teachers such as Kristine Bendul whose Broadway credits include On the Town, The King and I, and the Tony Awards TV show.
In honor of the Theatre and Dance Department founders, Al Gibson and Bill James, this scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student majoring in theatre and dance.
In honor of Technical Director Scott Robertson, this fund is used to help pay for extracurricular activities for our design/technical students such as attending The United States Institute For Technical Theatre (USITT) conferences or any other workshops or seminars appropriate to their craft.
