macOS Sequoia

Product Information

macOS Sequoia was released on September 16, 2024.  Academic Technology is NOT supporting macOS Sequoia at this time.

Recommendation

The macOS versions currently supported by Academic Technology / Technology Support Services are:

  • macOS Monterey (12.0)
  • macOS Ventura (13.0)
  • macOS Sonoma (14.0)

System Requirements

Apple has announced the following models will support macOS Sequoia:

  • MacBook Air (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (2018 and later)
  • Mac mini (2018 and later)
  • iMac (2019 and later)
  • iMac Pro (2017 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2019 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022)

Software Compatibility

NOTE - Academic Technology will not be testing macOS Sequoia until the final (not a "beta" release) version is released by Apple.

Jamf Pro and Jamf Connect

Supported w/ Jamf Pro.  Supported w/ Jamf Connect 2.39.0 or higher.  Your Jamf Connect should be automatically upgrading to the latest release.

Microsoft Office 2021 / 2024

Supported w/ the September 2024 update (16.89)

Beginning with the September update, you must be running macOS Ventura or later to receive future Office updates.  macOS Monterey is no longer supported.

Mozilla Firefox

OnGuard (ClearPass) - Required to Access SCU Resources such as MySCU Portal, Camino and Gmail.

Current release of ClearPass OnGuard is not compatible with macOS Sequoia.  A supported version of OnGuard will be made available towards the end of 2024.
