A Letter from the Co-Chairs
Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to work on Sustaining Excellence because we are committed to a bright future for Santa Clara University and the wonderful people who comprise this special community, including students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends. We are ready to work hard over the next six months because we want to ensure through this process that our University navigates the challenges in higher education thoughtfully, inclusively, and creatively. To ensure the most vibrant future for Santa Clara, we all need to share our ideas and best practices including from other higher education institutions, too. We also need to keep at the forefront of our deliberations the Jesuit ideals of making this world more humane, just, and sustainable and filter all that we do through the lens of maximizing our competence, conscience, and compassion.
We are grateful to collaborate with the incredibly smart, insightful, and talented colleagues staffing each of the Working Groups. We are fortunate to be guided by the expertise of Howard Teibel and Gail Gregory, who have helped other many universities become better at what they do.
We welcome ideas and comments from all members of our community as we collaborate to forge a strong and sustainable pathway to our future together.
Sincerely,
Lisa Kloppenberg and Thomas Plante
