The Silicon Valley Power Sustainable Futures Program enhances college access through scholarships and networking opportunities for undergraduate students pursuing sustainability-focused studies and careers. Santa Clara University selects a cohort of undergraduate students each year for scholarships. This program is made possible through a generous grant from Silicon Valley Power (SVP), the City of Santa Clara’s municipal electric utility.

Jesus Cruz, is pursuing an Environmental Science major. Originally from San Jose, Jesus plans to study business and use his talents to grow his family’s landscaping company. |
Amy Kim, is pursuing an Environmental Studies major, with a sustainability minor. She is originally from Virginia, she transferred to SCU from Mission College and aims to pursue a career in green business with a sustainability focus. |
Yajaira Orozco, is pursuing an Environmental Studies major, with an Ethnic Studies minor. Originally from Redwood City, she transferred to SCU from DeAnza College. She is interested in social justice and aims to pursue a career in Environmental Justice, either abroad or within the local community. |
Uriel Ramirez, is pursuing an Environmental Science major. He is from San Jose and is interested in composting and conservation. He would like to pursue a career in environmental conservation. |
William Torborg, is pursuing a Mechanical Engineering major, with dual minors in Sustainability and Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship. He is from San Jose and transferred to SCU from De Anza College. He is interested in robotics, urban architecture, and transportation. He wishes to help the world through innovation by fusing efficiency and sustainability to work towards a better future. |
