What do you do in your role at the Center? In my role as a Sustainable Food Systems Fellow, I conduct research on the environmental and social impacts of SCU’s on campus food systems. Over the course of the Summer of 2023, I will synthesize practical recommendations which can be applied in an effort to improve these systems.

How will this fellowship support you in your future scholarship/career goals? This fellowship provides me with the exciting opportunity to apply compelling and relevant topics related to food systems to a real-world context. It provides me with a valuable platform to contribute towards building an equitable and sustainable space within my own community. Throughout the project, I hope to enhance my understanding of working towards such a vision, aligning with my ultimate career goals of creating a more sustainable world.

Other passions, hobbies, fun facts, or anything else you want to share: My favorite part of the week is when my friends and I walk to the Santa Clara Farmer’s market to enjoy the local, seasonal produce, the live music, and the restoring sense of community. We all sit in the grass outside of the post office and write postcards to send to our loved ones. It's a great way to remind someone you’re thinking of them.
