Isabelle Pink
Sustainable Food Systems Fellow

Pronouns: She/Her

Year: 2026

Major: Finance

Minor: Sustainability

What is your project about? Grace and I are partnering with SCU’s dining services and The Real Food Challenge to conduct research and assess Santa Clara University's use of “real food,” and ultimately propose a list of feasible action items to improve SCU’s food sourcing. We hope to forge strong connections with the SCU’s food staff, improve the food that is sold and served across campus, and expand our partnerships with local food suppliers.

How will this fellowship support you in your future scholarship/career goals? The Sustainable Food Systems Fellowship is an opportunity to gain real-world experience that will be instrumental in preparing me for a future career in sustainability. Through research and collaboration with Grace, faculty, and staff and the Real Food Challenge, this fellowship will allow me to gain an understanding of challenges organizations face when trying to implement sustainable practices. This position will also provide me the space to develop and hone analytical and problem solving skills within the sustainable food systems space, giving me a strong foundation to launch my professional career.

What extra/co-curricular activities are you involved in on campus? I am Vice President of Into the Wild, SCU’s student-run outdoors organization, a DJ for KSCU, and co-president of Plant Futures.

Other passions, hobbies, fun facts, or anything else you want to share: I am an avid outdoors enthusiast who especially loves running, backpacking, cross-country skiing, and wakesurfing. I have an unwavering passion for sustainability, fashion, and travel. I also enjoy an early morning (even better if it includes a sunrise plunge + burritos in Santa Cruz), music (check out The ABCs show on KSCU!), exploring new places (near and far), and of course spending time with my wonderful friends and family :)
