What do you do in your role at the Center? I am the student liaison between dining services and the residence halls and work on initiatives to help reduce food waste in Benson and ensure proper composting and waste sorting is taking place as well as working with the RLC’s to administer compost pails to students as well as get students excited about Energy Challenge!

What is your favorite part about being on the team? I’m super excited to work with a group of people equally as passionate and motivated about making our campus and our world a greener place! I’m also excited to help find more fun ways to get the Santa Clara community involved in our sustainability efforts.

What extra/co-curricular activities are you involved in on campus? I am involved with Into the Wild, Surfrider, and Plant Futures. I am also conducting research on the water retention rates of different plant species for Virginia Matzek's lab.

Other passions, hobbies, fun facts, or anything else you want to share? I love everything about the outdoors and am very into hiking and just about anything to do with the ocean. I’m a huge scuba diver and this is what sparked my passion for sustainability and especially marine conservation. Some of my other hobbies include running, surfing, cooking, and I’m a huge foodie!
