Our charge as a Jesuit, Catholic university has never been more vital, needed, and relevant. Santa Clara’s community of scholars is uniquely positioned to cultivate the next generation of holistically educated, impactful citizens and leaders. Impact 2030 builds upon our strengths and increases our capacities in areas of need and opportunity.
The product of more than a year of planning guided by the University’s Planning Action Council, Impact 2030 reflects the contributions of more than 2,000 members of the Bronco community. Our strategic priorities provide a vivid blueprint for a University prepared to expand our impact globally; undertake vast curricular ambitions in areas like health care and ethical AI; provide access to a world-class education for anyone accepted to Santa Clara; and build on the strength of our passionate alumni community to develop and sustain lifelong connections for the diverse classes of our future.
Strategic Plan Priorities
Reach on a Global Scale
Having established ourself as a national university, Santa Clara seeks to expand our footprint as an international university, advancing interculturality and deepening international networks and relationships. We seek to become the leading global theologate for the changing face of the Catholic Church; a global hub for collaboration to advance economic social, ecological and political development; and a more globally engaged campus through international study, immersion, internship, and research opportunities.
Solutions for the Universal Good
To continue our excellence at educating for rigor, relevance, and lifelong career success, Santa Clara seeks to strengthen teaching supports and expand the scope and quality of our research infrastructure. These supports will leverage our setting in Silicon Valley, and build on opportunities in health care, technology—including ethical AI—and sustainability, while ensuring we are responsive to rapid technological advances, increased interdisciplinary collaboration, complex societal challenges, and widening gaps in who benefits from such advances.
Opportunity for All Talented Students
Expanding access and ensuring success for all talented students who aspire to attend Santa Clara are fundamental ways we activate our Jesuit, Catholic mission to advance the universal good, contribute to social mobility in our society, and strengthen our democracy. Through new partnerships, scholarships, and programs reflective of our nation’s demographic shifts, we will widen the aperture of opportunity for all talented applicants, no matter their socioeconomic background; help secure our future enrollment; and ensure our long-term viability.
Belonging for All Broncos
By building a vibrant and engaged campus and alumni community that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, and whose members interact meaningfully together, we help ensure all faculty, staff, students, and alumni experience a strong sense of belonging and lifelong affiliation with each other and Santa Clara. We seek to invest in and support opportunities and spaces of encounter, such as Residential Learning Communities; alumni mentoring; cultural, artistic and social programming; performing arts; and athletics.
