STAFF TOWN HALL & STAFF SENATE MEETING, April 15, 2022
- Staff Recognition Event – The SRE committee is reviewing nominations! Please RSVP for this event.
- UPC Charter Amendment Update – Updates to the UCC charge to allow staff to vote for the UCC chair-elect are passing through the shared governance approval channels.
- Elections & Bylaws – Staff Senate President-Elect voting concludes today. The General Staff Senate senator nominations begin next week. Staff Senate Committee chair nominations will take place in June.

Events & Service – The Appreciation-gram campaign was a big success with over 600 grams requested! The Events & Service Committee is continuing to deliver grams around campus. Please feel free to send any end-of-the-year event ideas for June to staffsenate-eventsandservice@scu.edu.

Special Staff Senate Meeting: Monday May 2, 1:00-2:00PM
The following meeting will be held to vote on:
UPC Charter Amendment, UCC Charge (see full text here) – Approved by Faculty Senate – the primary changes include opening the vote for the UCC chair-elect to staff and including senior lecturers as eligible candidates to run for the UCC Chair-elect position. If all the shared governance approvals are obtained, this academic year’s election will follow the new requirements and will occur in late May or early June.
Resolution: SS.R.20212022.1 (see full text here) – Juneteenth Observance – the Executive Team hopes to support SCU’s Black and African staff and ensure that the University is living up to its antiracist mission. With updated language, the resolution will be referred to the Staff Affairs Committee to collaborate with HR to evaluate and determine what ongoing and annual holidays should be considered university holidays
The Benefits Committee will be presenting results from its winter quarter survey at next week’s Benefits Town Hall on Wednesday, May 4th from 3:30–5:00PM. Please register for this event here.
