Below are the steps to petition to graduate
**Please note: If you are looking for information regarding the June Commencement Ceremony (i.e. cap/gown, tickets, picnic information, etc.) please visit www.scu.edu/commencement.
**These Steps are for Undergraduate Students. Graduate Students should contact their department for information on graduation.
STEP 1: Check your Academic Progress Report!
Students are responsible for knowing their graduation requirements. This is most easily done by checking your academic progress report. Your academic progress report will show you any unsatisfied requirements. All degree requirements must be satisfied in order to graduate. If you are unsure why a requirement is unsatisfied, please contact your department/academic advisor/department chair or AcademicRecords@scu.edu.

STEP 2: Complete your Pre-Graduation Evaluation
If you plan to add or drop a Program of Study, please complete our Program Petition form and collaborate with your department to ensure it is updated in your Academic Progress Report before filling out the Pre-Graduation Evaluation Form.
Prior to filling out this Pre-grad Evaluation form, please first Apply for Program Completion on your Workday Profile. If you do not complete the Pre-graduation Evaluation form before the petition deadline, you will have to reapply for graduation in the next term. Please refer to the Apply for Graduation guide.
Students will fill out one online Pre-Graduation Evaluation form for multiple majors. Contact your department/academic advisor/department chair to find out the steps to have your pre-graduation evaluation completed and signed (each department is different). Complete the online Pre-Graduation Evaluation form and submitted by the deadlines below. The hard deadline is Sunday at 11:59 PM due to Workday maintenance every Friday night.
• Fall 2024 - Friday, October 11, 2024 (Last day to petition for degrees to be conferred in December 2024)
• Winter 2025 - Friday, January 24, 2025 (Last day to petition for degrees to be conferred in March 2025)
• Spring 2025 - Friday, February 28, 2025 (Last day to petition for degrees to be conferred in June 2025)
• Summer 2025 - Friday, April 25, 2025 (Last day to petition for degrees to be conferred in September 2025)
*Note that this deadline is for STUDENTS to submit the petition. If you have already applied for program completion and submitted the pre-graduation evaluation form before the deadline, your petition is likely pending department approval. We give departments a few extra weeks after the deadline to review and approve your petition.
STEP 3: Submit your Diploma Name and Address
Students must submit a diploma name and address. This information is used to order your diploma and to list your name in the Commencement program.

STEP 4: Continue to check your Academic Progress Report!!!
If any requirements are listed not as satisfied you will not graduate! Follow up on any outstanding requirements with your department to find out what you need to do in order to satisfy the requirement. Continue to check your Academic Progress Report until all of your requirements are listed as satisfied. If you have any questions, contact your department or AcademicRecords@scu.edu.
