You have questions, we have answers! Please reach out to Leadership if you have any more questions.

A triathlon is a multisport race consisting of a swim, a bike, then a run. There are four standard types of triathlons:

Type/Distance Swim Distance Bike Distance Run Distance
Sprint 750 meters

20km (12.4 miles)

5km (3.1 miles)
Olympic 1500 meters 40km (24.8 miles) 10km (6.2 miles)
Half Iron Man 1.2 miles 56 miles 15 miles
Full Iron Man 2.4 miles 112 miles 26.2 miles

For our regular season competitions, we race Sprint Distances. For Regionals and Nationals, we will race Olympic Distance

Workouts will begin within the first week or two of school starting. Our first competition is Andie’s Aggeathlon at UC Davis in October. From there, competitions occur regularly until Nationals in April. See our Schedule for more information.

Please see the Gear Info tab for recommendations, our sponsors list for discounts, and as always, reach out to leadership for help!

While we take every measure to minimize academic disruptions, some of our overnight trips will disrupt Thursday and Friday classes. While all students are responsible for making arrangements to make up missed material, the office of Club Sports will ensure that your absence will be excused.

Because we are a club sport, participation in every practice is encouraged but by no means required. Athletes are encouraged to prioritize their academics and mental well-being, even if it means missing practices.

Absolutely yes! Relays are available at select Competitions and allow two or more teammates to each do a leg of a race. This race style is great for beginners and serious competitors alike.
