Hello Broncos! We are back again and hope that you are having a wonderful November so far. In case you forgot, we have 22 competitive Club Sport teams at SCU that compete locally, regionally, and nationally against other universities. Each month during the academic year, we ask them to report what they have been up to, and those that submit information will be sent out in this monthly e-mail. Not every Club Sport will report each month.
OPEN CLUB SPORTS
BOXING
The season is just getting started, and things are heating up. Competitors are in the middle of conditioning and training for their first fight of the year on November 22 at Sacramento State. At the same time, new team members are speeding through basic training. The year is just beginning, but we are already way ahead of the game! If you're interested in joining the team, please contact either one of our presidents Morris Su at msu3@scu.edu or Alondra Valdez at avaldez@scu.edu.
SAILING
Congratulations are in order for our sailors this month! We placed 7th overall at the Stoney Burke Open on October 20 competing against over 20 other boats. Our sailors also competed in the team’s first singlehanded ILCA class regatta, placing 5th and 8th at the St. Francis Fall Dinghy Regatta held October 27. We are looking forward to seeing even more of our new members anchoring their spots on the water!

SHOTOKAN KARATE
Our quarter’s absolutely kicking! The Karate Club is continuing to welcome new members into our weekly practices as we train for upcoming competitions! We just wrapped up our Halloween pumpkin carving social, and we’re gearing up for our first self-defense class of the year–a collaboration with SCU Belles. The workshop will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on November 9. If YOU or YOUR organization would like to collaborate with the Karate Club for a workshop or event, please fill out this Google Form.

TRIATHLON
SCU Triathlon’s season is continuing strong with the Berkeley Bearathlon in the books. We had eight athletes hit the water and the road in Berkeley, scoring multiple personal records! The team will continue training and preparing for their next race down in Santa Barbara on November 9.

MEN'S CLUB SPORTS
MEN'S RUGBY
The SCUTS had a great start to the preseason going undefeated at a Stanford 10's Tournament this past weekend. We were led by our President and Captain, Dante Black '26 and we beat Cal Poly SLO 21-0, UNR 14-5, and Stanford 15-14. There were notable performances from our first year players during the tournament by Nathaniel Owen, Samuel Sullivan, and Delvin Ntale. Now we look ahead to pivot towards our first 15’s match against Chico State at home on November 16 at 2 p.m. on Bellomy Field. Then later on November 23 we will compete with San Jose State at 1 p.m. on SJSU's South Campus Recreational Field. We hope to see our fans at one of these events!
WOMEN'S CLUB SPORTS
WOMEN'S CLUB SOCCER
Our season is off to a great start! We had our first win of the season against UC Santa Cruz! We have just one more game this quarter against Sacramento State on November 10 (away). We look forward to continuing to work hard each week and prepare for our competition.
WOMEN'S ULTIMATE
RAGE has had an amazing start to our 2024-2025 season! We had our first tournament at Chico State a few weeks ago and started off the year in a spectacular way! We won five out of six games, practiced some new skills, played incredibly hard, and of course shared many, many laughs. We then had a quick turn-around and traveled to Cal Poly SLO for another tournament just five days later. We played some very competitive teams which put our mental and physical abilities to the test, however we leaned on one another and had (yet again) an amazing weekend of frisbee and making memories. We look forward to expanding our skills and continuing to build a positive team environment in the upcoming weeks as we prepare for our next tournament at UC Santa Cruz!
