Hello Broncos! We hope this newsletter finds you well. We have 22 competitive club sports teams at SCU that compete locally, regionally, and nationally against other universities. Each month during the academic year, we ask them to report what they have been up to, and those that submit information will be sent out in this monthly e-mail. Not every Club Sport will report each month.

WOMEN’S TEAM SPORTS
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Happy 2024 from women’s lax! We are so excited to be back on campus for our official season to start. We have been practicing in preparation for our first game of the season at the end of the month. We will be headed down to Cal Poly January 27th. The team is looking good as we welcomed back our girls that were abroad so we have the team all together for the first time this season. We can’t wait for our games to begin and look forward to a strong start to the season. We would love to see you follow along with our season so follow @scuwlax on Instagram and X for updates.
WOMEN’S CLUB SOCCER
Women’s Club Soccer is very excited to be back and rolling in preparation for a full and exciting quarter! We finished fall quarter with a 3-1 record, including a win against the number one seed in our division, Chico State, in a close game. Our next game is scheduled for February 4th at 3pm against University of San Francisco on SCU’s Stanton Field. All support is greatly appreciated and we hope to see you there! Also, remember to follow us on instagram @scu.womensclubsoccer if you are interested in seeing any updates or photos from our games!
WOMEN’S CLUB VOLLEYBALL
This past weekend the volleyball team competed at the MLK tournament at San Jose State University. The tournament began on Saturday with pool play, where we had a strong start to the tournament, defeating Sacramento State and SJSU and losing a close match to USC, ultimately placing second in our pool. This continued on Sunday where we had four more games and ended the tournament placing second in the silver bracket!
WOMEN’S ULTIMATE
Hey everyone! Rage hit the ground running this winter quarter by traveling to Santa Barbara for the UCSB Qualifier tournament January 13th and 14th. Our dedication towards improvement and practices shined bright in this tournament as we came out with 5 wins, 2 losses, and 3rd place overall! This tournament showcased how much we have been working on the little things such as the mechanics of cutting, passing and defense, while also fluidity of play and team bonding. We had a boat load of fun in sunny Santa Barbara, and can't wait to take what we have learned and improved upon from this past tournament to the next level in a few weeks at Stanford Open! Follow us along our season on instagram @scurageultimate to see photos and game updates :)
