Hey Broncos! We are back with another Club Sports update for you. SCU has 22 competitive Club Sport teams that compete at local, regional, and national levels against other universities. Each month during the academic year, we ask teams to share updates on what they have been up to. Please note that not all Club Sports will report each month.
February is in for a lot of home games that you can attend and cheer on your fellow Broncos! Make sure to check out the bottom of this email for all the upcoming home games and their times! Go Broncos!!
OPEN CLUB SPORTS
BOXING
The season has just begun and we are already on a roll! On Saturday, January 25, we sent three boxers to the Air Force Invitational Boxing Bouts, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We had one boxer compete in their first ever match and another boxer win their match. Next, we are sending some more boxers to the Washington Athletic Club where we hope to see some great matches. Soon after that, we have our one and only home match. We are expecting to see boxers from USC, Air Force, the University of Washington, San Jose State, and others. The Dodge Ackerman Bouts will start at 1 p.m. and will be held in the Malley Center on Sunday, February 16. Come on out and support your friends on the boxing team!

SHOTOKAN KARATE
Hey all! What’s going on? The SCU Karate team just got back from our first tournament of the year in River Valley (everyone who competed did a fantastic job!) and the second one is coming up at Walnut Creek in March! In between competitions, we’re continuing to practice kata (forms) and kumite (sparring). As always, we’re so excited to welcome in anyone interested in learning karate (if you have years under your belt or no experience at all) please feel free to reach out to lsundin@scu.edu

SWIM TEAM
With the Winter Season rolling, we have some exciting swim meets coming up. First, we had a Stanford meet on the the first of February and are also expecting to have a swim meet with UC Berkeley later in the quarter. We are looking forward to seeing what our swimmers can do and having more people make national time cuts. If you have any questions or are interested in joining the club swim team, please email our representatives, kbush@scu.edu and akerobyan@scu.edu .

TRIATHLON
The Triathlon team started 2025 strong with a successful trip down to San Diego this past weekend. They had many athletes set personal bests, including rankings of 21st and 28th out of hundreds of athletes. Looking forward, winter is a busy season. Triathlon has three more races this quarter, the last being in Miami for USA Triathlon National Championships! Before then, they’ll be racing at Stanford and in San Luis Obispo.

The Women’s Club Volleyball team had an awesome home game last Sunday, where we pulled off a 3-0 win against Stanford.
