This month we are going to introduce you to our full-time staff, and the 14 student coordinators who assist us behind the scenes in managing the Campus Recreation Program. In the photo From left to right, we have for full-time staff:
Austin Hunt - Assistant Director for Intramurals and Camp - like his title says, he manages all the Intramural Sports offerings - leagues and tournaments and our six weeks of summer camp. Some could say he is the "King of Fun!"
Janice DeMonsi - Director of Recreation - she manages the entirety of Campus Recreation by working directly with all the Assistant Directors. She also oversees the Weight Room equipment, and the operations at the pool and the lifeguard student staff, and the fitness classes area (hourly instructors and student instructors).
Bucky The Bronco - The comedic relief
Kathryn Hutchings - Assistant Director for Club Sports - she oversees Bellomy Field and track, and works with all of our 22 club sports teams & the 753 club sport student-athletes. Look for her at one of their home games this fall.
Kelly Frumkin - Assistant Director for Membership & Operations - she manages all of our memberships - this includes spouses and alumni, as well as guests. In addition, she oversees the front desk student staff, weight room attendants, and facility operations. She is also lifeguard certified so sometimes you will see her helping out at the pool.
Outside of these 4 full-time employees Campus Recreation requires assistance from 14 student coordinators who work behind the scenes ensuring that the program runs successfully. We could not function without their roles. They are huge assets to the successful program we can provide to campus:
Matthew - Aquatics, Human Resources and Emergency Response Student Coordinator - he manages the Sullivan Aquatics Center and its lifeguards. October 13, 2024 he received a Lifesaving Award from the American Red Cross after his co-worker performed CPR and saved someone's life over the summer.
Marta - Budget Student Coordinator - she creates all the deposits from the front desk sales, and tracks all of our student wages and expenses to ensure that we stay under budget - a large % of our operating budget comes from revenue.
Lauren, D.J., Will and Kayla - Club Sport Student Coordinators - helping manage all the club sport rosters, and travel forms. They also help with paying invoices, and reimbursing the student-athletes.
Zoe - Fitness Student Coordinator - she creates the fitness class schedules with our lovely instructors, coordinates the weight room staff, and checks all the weight room equipment. She would like you to remember to rerack your weights!
Ryan and currently vacant - the Front Desk Operations Student Coordinators - assist with all the operations at the front desk which includes supervising the two staff areas, all the paperwork from guest pass sales and alumni and spouse memberships, and facility operations. Fun Fact - Ryan also serves as your Student Body president when he is not at Malley!
Parker and Jacob - Intramural and Camp Student Coordinators - they manage all the IM student staff, leagues and tournaments and assist with setting up the summer camp.
Danica, Lauren G. and Lauren T. - Marketing Student Coordinators - they create the content you see on our website, social media (follow us on Instagram SCU Campus Rec) and design the various fliers, and t-shirts for the program. |
