Did you know Campus Recreation employs over 200 students annually?
Our student staff manages the day-to-day operations of the Malley Center Front Desk, Weight Room, and Pool (Sullivan Aquatic Center). Our Intramural Sports program is supervised by two student coordinators & has up to 50 intramural sports officials and supervisors. In addition, students work our summer camp both in the camp office and out on the field & court. There is room for advancement in all our positions as students are promoted to Facility Supervisor roles, or become one of the fourteen (14) student coordinator positions helping with administering the entire Campus Recreation program.

Students who work for Campus Recreation will be able to:
- Evaluate experiences and transferable skills between their Campus Recreation role and their first desired professional role post graduation.
- Develop and articulate their own leadership skills and abilities.
- Define the 8 dimensions of wellness and discuss how each dimension applies to themselves and their peers.
- Articulate their role in creating an inclusive recreational environment.

Campus Recreation hosts two annual staff parties where everyone enjoys free food, awards, raffle prizes, and trivia!
At the end of the fall quarter event in December, staff members compete for the best-dressed in the holiday spirit.
Each quarter, Campus Recreation appreciates the work of its students by awarding Staff Champs! Students get a gift from the bookstore and a Staff Champ long-sleeve shirt. When you see someone in this shirt, congratulate them for all that they do! :)

Fitness Instructors must be nationally certified to teach, and current SCU students.

For Spring employment we need all applications by February 1. For Fall employment applications are due August 1, Winter employment applications are due November 1. The Intramural Sports Official is responsible for the conduct and on-site operation of intramural contests, ensuring a fair, fun, and safe game environment for all intramural participants. The Intramural Sports Official supervises all intramural sports participants for a given officiated sport. Intramural Sports Officials will assist with equipment for intramural contests, maintain game control, and enforce intramural rules and policies. Lifeguards are responsible for protecting the safety of patrons using the Sullivan Aquatic Center on the Santa Clara University campus. They are primarily responsible for monitoring the pool and surrounding area to prevent potential accidents by ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. We typically hire week 1 for the Fall Quarter, and in April/May for the Summer. You must hold a current lifeguard certification to apply. At this time we do not have anyone on staff that can instruct recertification or certification courses.
