Sam Campos

Sam Campos is a fourth-year undergraduate at Santa Clara University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Pre-Law and a minor in Spanish Studies. She is a proud Bay Area native, born and raised in San José, CA. She has been a member of the Clean Slate Research Team for over a year and is involved in various other on-campus organizations, such as co-president of Hermanas Unidas and a Community Facilitator within the Office of Residence Life. Sam’s research interests focus on policy implementation and the consequences of incarceration on families. Following a gap year, she intends to pursue law school to advance legal representation for underserved communities.

Chisomaga Nlemigbo

Chisomaga Nlemigbo is a fourth-year student at Santa Clara University studying Public Health and Political Science who was born and raised in the Bay Area. Before joining the Clean Slate Research Team, he worked on projects related to juvenile justice, ethical corporate political activity, and unhoused populations. Chisomaga’s research interests include the effect of incarceration on youth, social dynamics within prison, and immigrant experiences within the United States. He is excited to work on this team and examine the anticipated versus actual effects of criminal expungement policies. After graduating from Santa Clara, he intends to pursue law school.

Joanna Wahmhoff

Joanna Wahmhoff is a Ph.D. student in Criminology and Justice Policy at Northeastern University. Her research interests encompass reentry post-incarceration, with a specific focus on collateral consequences and their interplay with poverty. She joined Northeastern in the Fall of 2024 and has since served as a teaching and research assistant within the criminology department. She holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Maryland: one in Criminology and Criminal Justice and the other in Anthropology.
