Cara teaches a breadth of sociology courses that range from introductory principles of sociology to upper-division courses on gender and family, childhood, and internship seminar. Her research interests lie at the nexus of carework, family, and healthcare. She is particularly committed to creating inclusive, meaningful learning experiences that deeply connect with students' complex lives today. In this vein, she will be a planning CAFE session on teaching to first-generation college students, facilitating a faculty cohort for new teaching faculty, and looks forward to sharing and learning more with faculty in community!
