Dear Colleagues,
The Provost’s Office is pleased to announce the creation of a Research Reboot fund to support Assistant Professors whose research has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible faculty may apply for a salary supplement in the form of a $2,000 summer stipend.
While acknowledging the impact of the pandemic on all faculty research, the Faculty Affairs Committee has recommended the allocation of available funding to help Assistant Professors to regain momentum and recover from research-specific setbacks, including disrupted or curtailed projects; inaccessible labs, studios, archives, and performances; limited travel and canceled conferences; supply chain issues; and other challenges.
All Assistant Professors are eligible to apply for the award, including those who petitioned for tenure and promotion in September 2022, and those intending to petition in September 2023.
Complete this Qualtrics form by Friday, April 14, to apply for a Pandemic-era Research Reboot Award of $2,000. Faculty stipends are issued as supplemental pay, paid directly to the faculty member, for the pay period ending June 15, 2023. This supplemental pay is contingent on continued employment for the 2023-2024 academic year.
