President Julie Sullivan welcomes invitations to attend university events or represent the university at community events.
- To invite President Sullivan to an event, please complete the Participation Request Form here and submit at least six weeks prior to the date of the event. Submission of the request to the Office of the President is not a confirmation of the President's attendance at the event.
- A staff member from the Office of the President will notify the requester about whether President Sullivan is able to attend and if so, will provide a briefing form for the requester to complete and submit to the Office of the President four weeks prior to the event.

Introducing the President
Please use the following when introducing President Sullivan at special events.
Julie Sullivan is the 30th president of Santa Clara University. She is both the first layperson and first female president in the University’s 171-year history.
A visionary academic leader, President Sullivan is a passionate champion for Catholic higher education, particular around the themes of:
- creating opportunities and economic inclusion through education,
- dismantling racism and building belonging,
- and promoting environmental sustainability.
Prior to joining Santa Clara, President Sullivan served as president of St. Thomas University in Minnesota for nine years where she was highly regarded for her leadership in creating innovative academic programs, supporting student well-being and success, and increasing the visibility and reputation of the university.
A professor of business and accounting, she has taught at and served in academic administrative roles at the University of San Diego, the University of California-San Diego, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
A native of Florida, President Sullivan is a first-generation college graduate with three degrees from the University of Florida: a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a master’s degree in taxation, and a Ph.D. in business.
