Santa Clara University partners with The Posse Foundation
Dear Santa Clara University Community,
I write with news that strengthens our commitment to educational and inclusive excellence and socioeconomic diversity.
I am proud to announce a groundbreaking five-year partnership with the Posse Foundation, which works with universities to increase access for underserved students with strong leadership potential. Posse’s innovative model identifies and trains pre-collegiate students who, upon acceptance, receive support for a successful college and career placement experience.
Starting with the Class of 2028, Santa Clara University will welcome the first cohort of 10 Posse Scholars to our campus in fall 2024. We are the first Jesuit university to become a Posse partner, and one of only three university partners in California, joining Pomona College and Pepperdine University.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to James (Jim) and Heather Pigott, longtime supporters of The Posse Foundation and parents to two SCU Broncos, for their gift that made this first cohort of ten students possible. This partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to increase access to a world-class Santa Clara University education.
To learn more about the partnership, please read the press release.
Warm regards,
Julie Sullivan
President
