Zenobia Lane appointed New VP for Human Resources
Dear Santa Clara University community,
It is my pleasure to share that I have appointed Zenobia Lane, who has served as Santa Clara’s interim vice president of human resources for the past eight months, to the role of vice president for human resources, effective April 1.
As interim leader in HR, Zenobia has been an invaluable counselor and partner with my leadership team, and has helped many across campus effectively recruit and retain top talent.
She has provided inspired leadership and support to the HR team, including overseeing a strong string of hires and implementing a much-needed review of roles and responsibilities so HR can best serve our community. She helped lead the successful first phase of our market-adjustment compensation review for all staff, and has proven to be a wise, values-driven, and supportive colleague.
Previously reporting to my chief of staff, Molly McDonald, Zenobia will report directly to me and be part of my Cabinet as vice president. This is a reflection of the tremendous importance and priority we place on advancing the HR needs of our staff and faculty, and attaining the high-performing, diverse, and productive workforce we need to support our mission, values, and long-term strategic goals.
You can read more about Zenobia’s distinguished accomplishments and career in the University news release.
I also want to express my sincere thanks to Molly for her excellent work over the past two years, when she stepped in to oversee HR in her former role, while still serving as chief of staff and making my transition to Santa Clara a smooth one. We owe Molly deep gratitude for her service.
Please join me in welcoming Zenobia to the Bronco family. I look forward to her continued contributions as we embark on this next phase of our journey as a University.
Sincerely,
Julie Sullivan
President
