Anne McMahon became director of special projects in 2021 after serving as assistant to the President for communications for 12 years. In her role as director, she manages and supports special projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff or the President, including executive searches; manages select elements related to the Board of Trustees, including meeting materials, Board portal management, Trustees handbook project and special assignments; ensures the operational effectiveness of the President’s Office by providing leadership for administrative areas, including office operations, finance and budget, human resources, and technology support; and supports presidential communications. Anne is responsible for managing workflow and the implementation of organizational strategies, practices, and policies for the President’s Office.
Prior to her appointment in the Office of the President, Anne served as University Archivist at Santa Clara (1996-2009). She holds a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministries from Santa Clara University, a master’s degree in History from George Mason University, and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she lives in Santa Clara with her husband. They have three adult children.
