Dear Santa Clara University Community,
We hope you had a wonderful quarter and are looking forward to the holiday break. Here are some specific steps you can take to protect yourself, your loved ones, and vulnerable members of our community.
Get tested
- Before leaving campus for winter break,
- 3-5 days after traveling,
- 3-5 days after being exposed to someone who has tested positive,
- If you are experiencing ANY symptoms, even if you think it is just a cold or allergies.
On Campus Testing
Color PCR testing will continue to be available on campus Monday - Friday through
December 9. During winter break, PCR testing will be available Mondays and Thursdays through December 22.
Rapid antigen tests will be available at the Health Ambassadors table for the remainder of the quarter
- Monday - Friday 11am - 3pm through December 2, and
- Monday - Friday 12pm - 2pm during finals week, December 5-9.
Tips for Staying Healthy over Winter Break
Make sure you are up to date with your COVID-19 booster to protect yourself and others this winter! Masking while traveling and in crowded indoor spaces can also limit your risk for COVID, as well as RSV and influenza, all of which are circulating widely.
As a community, we want to do all we can to prevent the spread of illnesses. Thank you for helping protect one another.
Looking ahead to winter quarter
As a reminder, masks will be required in classrooms during Week 1 and Week 2. Additionally, all students will be expected to take two COVID-19 tests upon returning to campus-- one during Week 1 and one during Week 2. This will help limit community spread as we begin the Winter Quarter. We will share more information about re-entry testing in January.
Wishing you a happy, restful, safe, and healthy holiday break. Looking forward to seeing you back on campus in the new year!
Stay safe and well,
SCU COVID-19 Operations Team
