Dear Students,
Due to low entry testing compliance and increasing cases, all students are required to take a COVID-19 test (either a Color PCR test or a rapid antigen test) by Wednesday, September 28. Less than 40% of our campus community completed the required entry testing last week. Testing plays a key role in our efforts to contain and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Color PCR test kits and collection bins are available in the following buildings: Benson, Charney, Dowd, Guadalupe, Lucas, Heafy, Kenna, SCDI, and Vari. Tests are picked up Monday-Friday at 3pm. If you tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days, you cannot use a Color PCR test and must use a rapid antigen test.
Rapid tests are available at the Bronco Health Ambassadors table, located outside of the Learning Commons Monday-Friday, 11am-3pm.
If you test positive for COVID-19:
- Fill out this survey ASAP, for isolation instructions and to be connected to support resources.
- Inform your close contacts that you have tested positive, and encourage them to get tested 3-5 days after exposure.
In addition to entry testing, please take a test when:
- You have any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (e.g. sore throat, runny nose/congestion, cough, fever, headache, body aches, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea). Do not assume you have a cold or allergies. Anyone with COVID symptoms must test before attending class or work. Rapid antigen tests are most accurate 24 hours after symptoms begin.
- You have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Please get tested 3-5 days after exposure.
- You have been traveling. Test when you get back to campus.
- Before you see family members or people who are vulnerable.
- After you attend an event, if you learn that other attendees were diagnosed with COVID-19.
Remember that masks are required in classrooms, the Cowell Health Center, and Kids on Campus. Please make sure to bring a mask with you to class. KN95 masks are available at multiple locations across campus including the Health Ambassador's table, Benson Memorial Center, Campus Safety Office, Cowell Center, Residence Halls, Charney Hall, Lucas Hall, the Learning Commons, Guadalupe Hall and at the JST front desk. Surgical masks are available in classrooms.
Broncos, we are all in this together. Do your part to keep our community safe and healthy.
Stay safe and well,
SCU COVID-19 Operations Team
