Our mission is to support every pre-health student in their goal to serve others through meaningful work in healthcare.
Health Professions Advising (HPA) at Santa Clara University supports a diverse population of 400+ students and alumni preparing for careers in medicine, dentistry, physical and occupational therapy, nursing, optometry, pharmacy and many other healthcare fields. All of our advising materials and programs are designed to support students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in the health professions.
Through individual and group advising, programming, and developing educational resources, we guide students in their academic and co-curricular choices; support students' progress through their pre-health experience; help students understand the diverse opportunities within health professions.
How to Use This Site
We deliver the advising information, programming announcements and promote clinical opportunities through an advising site in our Learning Management System (LMS), called Camino (Canvas). Since our advising and support resources are curated exclusively for SCU pre-health students on our Camino site; the purpose of the this webpage is to:
- Highlight program features and initiatives
- Connect current students and our alumni with our program
- Promote the program to prospective students interested in pursuing an SCU degree leading to healthcare profession.
