Commuting to campus can be a financial burden for many students. To help ease this, we offer assistance in applying for transportation discounts to make your commute more affordable.
Our Basic Needs Coordinator can guide you through the process of applying for the Clipper Start Program, which offers reduced fares for BART, Muni, Caltrain, and select ferry services for eligible low-income residents.
Additionally, we can connect you to the Transit Assistance Program (TAP), which provides subsidized VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) passes to qualified students, allowing you to commute across the Bay Area with greater ease and less expense. Whether you're using public transportation daily or occasionally, these programs can help lower your transportation costs and ensure you can get to campus without financial strain.
CalFresh Employment and Training (E&T) Program:

This initiative is designed to empower CalFresh recipients by equipping individuals with essential skills for securing meaningful employment and fostering economic stability. As a participant, you’ll have access to job application assistance, interview clothing, and valuable workshops offered through Sacred Heart. Additionally, short-term transportation resources are provided, including gas cards, VTA passes, or bikes, to help you get where you need to go.
