In-Person Session Schedules

Note: Students and any parents and family that accompany them will receive the full detailed schedule upon check-in for the in-person session date that they register for. The information below provides general information and session highlights.

First year students attending an in-person Orientation session in July (see dates above) will have a day-and-a-half long experience including an overnight stay in Swig Residence Hall with other students attending the same session.

On Day 1 of the session, students check in between 7:30-8:30am then begin with a formal welcome at 8:30am in the Mission Church. The session ends on Day 2 at 1:00pm which is when students check out of Swig Residence Hall and depart back home or explore campus more on their own.

Session highlights include:

  • University Welcome featuring the University President, Division of Mission & Ministry, and the Deans of the College of Arts & Sciences, Leavey School of Business, and School of Engineering.
  • Introduction and overview of the RLCs including a brief residence hall tour.
  • "Learning About the Curriculum" session and academic advising.
  • Course registration for fall classes.
  • Resource Fair to learn about a wide variety of student services and campus departments.
  • "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice" session featuring the Division of Inclusive Excellence.

There is also a parent/family schedule that has many of the same session highlights described above. In particular, parents and family do not have small group discussions or Bronco Social, but do have a parent/family reception instead.
